Privacy Policy

Scope by OMUK, based in London, United Kingdom, is the data controller for personal data processed through the platform. You can reach us about anything in this policy at privacy@scope.omuk.co.uk.

Account details: your name, email address and password (stored only as a secure hash), plus any profile information you choose to add, such as a photo or biography.

Learning activity: courses you join, lessons you complete, time spent, goals you set and progress you make. This powers your personal progress view and helps your educators support you.

Community content: posts, comments, reactions and messages you choose to share within a course community.

Technical data: device type, browser, approximate region and log data used to keep the platform secure and reliable.

To run your account, deliver courses and remember where you left off.

To show you relevant next steps in your learning journey, and to show educators how their learners are progressing so they can offer support.

To keep the platform safe, prevent misuse and fix problems.

To send essential service messages (for example, confirming your account). We only send marketing emails if you opt in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Scope includes AI-supported features, such as asking questions about course content. Your questions are processed to generate an answer grounded in the course material. We do not use your private data to advertise to you, and we do not sell personal data to anyone.

Learners in your community can see the profile and community content you choose to share. Educators can see progress and activity for learners in the courses they teach. Platform administrators access data only where needed to operate and support the service.

We work with a small number of trusted service providers (hosting, storage, email and AI processing) who process data on our behalf under contract and appropriate safeguards.

We keep your account data while your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete or anonymise your personal data within a reasonable period, except where we must keep limited records for legal or security reasons.

You can access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@scope.omuk.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

We use encryption in transit, access controls and row-level data isolation so learners only see what they are authorised to see. No method of transmission is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.

If we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you by email or in the product.
